What is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner?A Nutritional Therapy Practitioner uses evidence based nutrition science to address the body systems which are out of balance, using root cause analysis to get to the bottom of your health concerns. Each client is seen as a unique individual and as a result will have a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan using an holistic approach.

Why is my plan different to someone with the same health conditions? One size does not fit all! Your body is unique and your current presenting symptoms will likely to have manifested over a number of years with different triggers. Therefore, everyone is given a bespoke nutrition and lifestyle plan to unlock your best health, specific to you!

But will you just put me on a diet?Nutritional therapy is all about abundance, feeding your body with the correct nutrients and crowding out the unhelpful foods. What is involved in my consultation? After your discovery call, you will be sent an in-depth questionnaire and 5 day food diary to complete. These are essential for me to understand what could be driving your symptoms. The 60-90 minute Initial Consultation is all about understanding your health concerns, your symptoms and your past medical history which has lead you to present with your current ailments. There is no judgement, it is about empowering you with the correct knowledge to unlock your best health ever!
-
Is there anything I need to have prepared? You will need to return your completed in-depth Health Questionnaire and your 5 day food and lifestyle diary which would have been sent to you directly after your discovery call. You should have also returned a signed terms and conditions form and paid in full, at least 48 hours prior to your first consultation. Please bring an open mind as you may be surprised to find out that finding your best health is not just about nutrition!

Do I have to take supplements?I address any nutrient insufficiencies with nutrition first, however there may be times when your body needs an extra boost quickly whilst we continue to work on re-balancing your diet. I will take into account any budget restrictions you may have when it comes to choosing supplementation. Liquid versions of supplements are available if you are one of the many who have difficulty swallowing tablets. All supplements recommend are professional grade.
-
You've mentioned testing, can't I get that for free at my doctor's?There may be times where functional testing is appropriate - to understand specific strains of bacteria lacking in your gut for example . This kind of testing is done through private laboratories as it is far more comprehensive than testing done through your GP. Any testing will be invoiced directly from the lab and is not included in your packing cost.

How long will it take to see a difference?Firstly, health is a journey and not a destination, and is not linear. Just as every day life changes up and down when new challenges arise so will your health. How quickly your health improves very much depends on the effort you put in to change your diet and lifestyle, there is no magic wand! Your health has likely been deteriorating over several years so recovery will not be overnight. Your bespoke nutrition and lifestyle plan will be all about making long lasting incremental steps to your best health whilst having the support and guidance of Lisa throughout your journey.
